Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has put the NFL on its ear since he became a full-time starter with the Kansas City Chiefs. So perhaps it should come as no surprise that he is listed as the odds-on favorite to win his second NFL Most Valuable Player award during the 2020 season.Mahomes, who led the Chiefs to the franchise’s first Super Bowl in 50 years with a 31-20 victory over San Francisco last month, opened as plus-350 to win the award, according to William Hill Sports Book. The 24-year-old Mahomes threw for 4,031 yards and 26 touchdowns last season. It was a statistical drop from his 2018 MVP season in which he threw for 5,097 yards and 50 TDs.Reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson of Baltimore (plus-600) is coming off a historic season in which he threw for 3,127 yards, a league-high 36 touchdowns and just six interceptions while also breaking Michael Vick’s single-season rushing record for a quarterback.
