Chiefs activate QB Henne off injured reserve

The Kansas City Chiefs addressed their quarterback situation on Saturday, but Patrick Mahomes was not the central figure involved. The Chiefs (5-3) activated Chad Henne off injured reserve and listed the veteran quarterback as questionable on Sunday (1 p.m. ET) versus the visiting Minnesota Vikings (6-2).Kansas City waived undrafted rookie quarterback Kyle Shurmur to make room on the 53-man roster for Henne, who fractured his ankle in August before returning to practice late last month.Henne will be available to back up Matt Moore should Mahomes miss his second consecutive game on Sunday with a knee injury.Mahomes, the reigning NFL Most Valuable Player, is attempting to return from a dislocated right kneecap sustained Oct. 17 in Denver. He said he would have played in last week’s 31-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers if it had been a playoff game.
